Here is a photograph of my feeble attempt at a home made manual production of a PCB. I’ll explain, the “PCB” was constructed from an ordinary piece of laminated copper board which then had the pattern cut out by using a router bit in a pillar drill. The board was held in a machine vice on a cross table. You can see where I have had to reset the height of the pillar by the gouges left on the board and in some places’ I went too far and totally went through the board ( see top left of the board. Just behind the red heat shrink )
To the right is a photograph of the scope display of the phase shift oscillator . I think the amplitude is a bit fierce and as a result there is distortion on the lower half of the wave from. The frequency is rather on the low side from my calculated value but actually resulted in a frequency that I wanted. I’ve always found the formula for this type of oscillator to be rather rule of thumb.
